Veterans Administration
Green Reviews has provided a variety of regulatory compliance services to Veterans Affairs. Our projects included:
- Air Permitting Services to VA Medical Centers (VAMCs), environmental awareness training and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) training. Green Reviews reviewed four VAMCs for possible exemptions from permitting requirements and identified opportunities for Permit-by-Rule. We provided 2-1/2 day training workshops to VA personnel to prepare for the CHMM exam and arranged a CHMM exam session in Dayton, OH. We conducted four one-day training workshops for VA personnel covering environmental compliance issues specific to hospital facilities.
- Environmental Compliance Audits at VAMCs and associated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) throughout VISN 10 to assess facility compliance with all federal, state and local environmental regulations. The audits included reviews of air emissions, ozone-depleting substances, petroleum storage, wastewater, asbestos, lead-based paint, and hazardous and medical waste. Green Reviews researched relevant regulations and wrote detailed reports compiling all audit findings, ranging from major gaps in regulatory compliance to best management practice suggestions on how to improve facility operations.
- Underground and Aboveground Storage Tank Operator Training. Green Reviews provided technical experts and professional services for scripting and filming four one-hour videos on aboveground and underground storage tanks. The scripts and dialogue were customized to VA operations and maintenance activities. The Underground Storage Tank training portions are being used to assist VA facilities with meeting Class A, B, and C operator training requirements.
